International Jazz Day (May 29th 2010) celebrates Jazz music, history, musicians, and the impact it's had on culture. If you're lucky, someone in your music education probably explained why Jazz is important. If not, you owe it to yourself, your children, and your readers to find out (and share) more. Here are a few things to help you blog about Jazz.

Read about the greats and talk about how they contributed to Jazz – Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne (recently deceased), Billie Holiday, Ethel Waters, Sarah Vaughan, Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Nat “King” Cole, “Duke” Ellington, Miles Dewey Davis, and many others.

Teach kids about Jazz with the help of PBS Kids Jazz.
