You know, as parents we try to teach out children about safety and trust that an adult will be with them to help them make decisions if/when a disaster occurs. We may be too trusting and leaving too much up to chance. As much as we try to keep an eye on the kids, there are times, especially with older kids, that they are unsupervised. It's these times when it's so important that they are know emergency procedures.
The Disaster Twins is an ebook from FEMA that can help you teach your (grade 2-4) children what to do in a variety of situations. While you're on the site, don't forget to explore the other sections and links on the page.
