How to Be a Blended Family on a Budget

Becoming a blended family can be difficult at times. Add finances into the mix and you have room for even more difficulty. However, with a few common sense tips, it does not have to be that way. Decide before the wedding day how and when finances will be allocated. Discuss child support that is coming in and going out, as well. Pick an allotted amount of after school activities that require a free for each child. Teach everyone in the family that they are, in fact, family and not guests. Everyone has to pitch in, work, do chores, and help out along the way. If you work as a team, then your team will work for you. Decide how much of the incoming funds go toward saving, vacation, holidays and birthdays, and how much needs setting aside for bills. Stick to your budget and be firm but fair.
